What's the weather like in Culverden?
We have had heavy rain -it seems like forever.
Here are some photos taken this morning.
This is Dry Stream on the way into Culverden from the south.
Local farmer Bruce Black said that he has never seen anything like this.Note the centre pivot in the background.
Apparently the road to Hanmer Springs is also closed by slips
A house on the banks of the Pahau River
Another house on the banks of the Pahau River-river in the background
Same house showing sand bagging-hopefully it will keep out the water
The club house at the Culverden Golf Course-I didn't have my gum boots-so couldn't get closer-but the course looks badly flooded

I'm sick of this weather
At the moment we are in the middle of the bad weather that is sweeping New Zealand. It is pouring with rain, windy and freezing cold-need I say more?
Last week when we had some "spring weather"I grabbed the camera and took some photos of some of the signs of spring.
Today seems a good day to look at them!
This is cheating a bit-this geranium just loves it in our lounge and flowers all year
A bit of colour on the deck
Winter Sweet outside our bathroom window-the smell is just delightful
Winter Sweet and soap in the guest bathroom.
More news following later in the week

I grew up on the Cameron family's Otematata Station in a remote and beautiful area of North Otago high country, and also maintain a blog of that interest of a more nostalgic nature inc. photos from a recent 100 yr. centennial held in March 2008 ... more>>
